Who is eligible?
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Own a house with a suitable roof for installing solar panels.
- Household must have a valid electricity connection.
- Household should not have already availed any other subsidy for solar panels.
Subsidy amounts
Central financial assistance is provided based on system capacity:
- Up to 2 kW system: ₹30,000 per kW
- Additional capacity up to 3 kW: ₹18,000 per kW
- Maximum subsidy: ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above
Documents required
- Aadhaar card of the applicant
- Recent electricity bill
- Proof of ownership of the property
- Bank account details (for subsidy credit)
- Passport-size photograph
Step-by-step application process
- Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in using your state, DISCOM and consumer number.
- Log in with your consumer number and submit a rooftop solar application.
- Await feasibility approval from your DISCOM (typically 15 days).
- Get it installed by a registered vendor like Yashasvi Enterprises.
- Submit plant details and apply for a net meter after commissioning.
- Receive subsidy directly in your bank account within 30 days of inspection.
